The following are links to Bible study papers which have been a great deal of help for me and others toward a proper understanding of the verses. In some cases I had previously known what the verses did not mean, due to comparing them with other scripture. It is important and edifying to also know what the verses do mean, and not just to try to explain them away.

 

James 2:14 - Faith without works is dead
